_ga and _gid: Used to anonymously differentiate your from other visitors This is because we want to keep track of how many first time and frequent users we have on our pages. They contain just a random uniqe id generated the first time you visit. The first one lasts for 2 years and the other is deleted after 24 hours.
_gat: Used to limit the rate at which Google Analytics servers are contacted to at most once every minute. This contains no actual data and is deleted after 1 minute.
