A Patient with carcinoma in situ

Patient

  • Male, 75 years old

Symptoms

  • Urgency and dysuria for the past 6 months

Medical history

  • Partial gastrectomy for gastric cancer several years ago
  • Significant comorbidities (Charlson Comorbidity Index = 5)

Examination

  • Urinary cytology: two specimens registered atypical urothelial cells and papillary clusters
  • White light flexible cystoscopy: No tumors or abnormalities detected
  • Hexvix® blue-light cystoscopy revealed two suspicious areas, biopsies taken
